The future of aerospace is coming to Foster High School this Thursday, March 30!

As part of the school’s annual Career Day activities, the AJAC (Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee) is sending a full-size semi-truck loaded down with hands-on equipment and demonstrations. Students will cycle through the truck throughout the day, and community members are invited as well.

Washington is the world-leader in aerospace and advanced-manufacturing production, and the state created AJAC to ensure that today’s workforce expertise is passed on to the next generation through apprenticeship programs. This combines on-the-job training with college-level instruction. AJAC is particularly interested in developing a highly trained and highly diverse youth workforce in careers like plastic-process technician, precise metal fabricator, and more.\

While exploring the AJAC truck, participants will learn more about how to access these lucrative apprenticeships; Washington will have an estimated 3.5 million job openings in STEM manufacturing in the next decade! Come learn more:
