Hello Foster Families,

This year, Foster is in year 1 of a 3 year project with Forefront in the Schools, a suicide prevention program connected to the UW School of Social Work. So far, we have trained our staff. Our next step is to offer a training for our parents and guardians. We’d love to have as many interested Foster and Showalter parents/guardians attend.

Mental health and suicide are issues that affect all groups and ages of people. Foster High School is working with UW School of Social Work to offer a training just for parents and guardians to help learn about how to recognize when peers, friends, and family might be having thoughts of suicide, and to know how to help. If you want to make a difference and learn how to help prevent suicide, this workshop is for you.

The workshop will be Thursday, May 31st from 6-8 PM in FHS library.

Training and resources will be provided. Light snacks will be provided. We are sorry but no child care is available and no translation is available.

This training is for parents and guardians but not for students.
