Principal's Message

Hello and welcome to the 2025/2026 school year!
I hope you’re ready for an amazing year full of learning, enriching experiences, new partnerships, and chances to meet new friends and staff, as well as strengthen the relationships you already have.
With each new year, there is an opportunity for growth. I challenge each of you to select one personal area of growth for this school year. Write it down, or if you feel comfortable, share it with an accountability partner. Then, take intentional steps each day to work toward your goal.
New for 2025/2026: Cell Phone Policy 3245 — “Off and Away for the Day”
Last year, Foster High School piloted a “no cell phone, bell to bell” approach. I am excited to share that the Tukwila School Board has officially adopted Policy 3245, which sets clear expectations for personal electronic device use in all Tukwila schools.
This policy requires that all personal electronic devices including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds/headphones, and similar devices remain off and away for the day. Foster scholars may use their phones only during lunch periods.
This policy and our goal are to help reduce distractions and support scholars in remaining focused in the learning environment, while also creating more opportunities for scholars and staff to connect and engage.
Family partnerships are an essential part of our success at Foster. I deeply value the collaboration between home and school, and I look forward to the opportunity to meet our families, listen to your voices, and work together to ensure every scholar thrives.
Lunch and Campus Guidelines
Please remember that Foster is a closed campus for 9th and 10th grade scholars during lunch.
At Foster, you belong. You are seen, valued, and more than enough. I’m looking forward to a fantastic school year ahead.
Remember to wear your purple and white on Fridays to show your Bulldog pride!
Respectfully,
Mrs. LaTanya R. Parker
Proud Principal
